High-school softball rankings — Week 6

At last, an “easy” week for ranking the top Class 4A softball teams in the state. And by that I only mean that no teams in last week’s top-10 lost, so you’ll see no changes there.

Note that Rogers of Puyallup, once in the top-5, continued to suggle a bit last week, losing to Bethel. The Rams have a big game Tuesday against No. 8 Puyallup, a team they beat a couple of weeks ago. And it’s a big week for No. 10 Marysville-Pilchuck, which has Stanwood (12-2) on Wednesday (plus Everett on Tuesday).

Now, Class 3A was another matter last week. Juanita, which was up to No. 3, lost a one-run game to Bellevue and falls to No. 8. Everett lost twice (to 4A teams), and drops back to the “watch” list along with Shadle Park., which also lost a pair of 4A contests.

I expect one of those 3A teams from that tough GSL (with mostly 4A schools) to qualify for state with an ugly record (Shadle is now 7-9) and the ability to win some games, but none are in the rankings this week.

So, Prairie is back in the top-10 at No. 9 and Glacier Peak gets the No. 10 spot.

Have a look and let me hear about these:
