The pairings are nearly set for the South Puget Sound League 4A baseball tournament, which runs this Friday and Saturday at Kent Memorial Park.
All of the qualifiers are set, but Emerald Ridge has to play Curtis tonight (Tuesday) to determine the Nos. 3-4 seeds out of the South Division. They tied for third at 11-5 and split during the regular season. In the North, Tahoma and Jefferson tied for third, but Tahoma gets the No. 3 seed based on the regular-season sweep of TJ.
The top three teams from both divisions will be advancing to the West Central District tournament (Saturday’s games are for seeding only), while the other four teams in the SPSL tourney battle for the seventh and final berth.
I’m planning to be there for at least the Saturday games and will be posting updates here. I’m especially looking forward to the showdown between top-ranked Puyallup and No. .6 Kentwood.
