Saturday’s spring high-school highlights

Sorry this is a bit late, but here is a look back at the high school sports action from Friday, compiled by Brady Henderson.

Baseball:

— David Oppenheim doubled, tripled and drove in three runs as Mercer Island beat Liberty, 10-1, in the KingCo 3A Tournament. Max Dammeier allowed an earned run in six innings for the win.

— Rossco Castagno homered and drove in four runs as Mount Si beat Mercer Island, 14-2.

— Sumner’s Alex Sloan and Cameron Steffey each went 3-4 with an RBI in a 7-5 win against Kennedy Catholic in the Seamount/SPSL 3A Subdistrict Playoffs.

— Auburn Mountainview blanked Hazen, 3-0, thanks to a complete-game shutout from Brandon Williams, who allowed two hits and struck out 12. Michael Patenaude homered for the Lions.

— Mark Klick doubled and drove in three runs as Bishop Blanchet beat Lakeside, 9-0. Michael Albert allowed three hits in six scoreless innings for the win.

— Shawn Doi was 2-4, scored twice and swiped three bags as Seattle Christian beat Vashon Island, 9-5.

Softball:

— Eastlake’s Nicole Guptil allowed an unearned run on three hits in a complete-game, 2-1 win against Issaquah. She also tripled and drove in a run.

— Joanna French was 3-4 with a double and four RBI in Redmond’s 18-0 win against Garfield. Melissa White allowed two hits in five scoreless innings.

— Newport’s Kayla Reynolds allowed an earned run on four hits in a complete-game, 3-1 win against Skyline. Jessica Barry doubled and drove in two runs.

— Brittany Jeans threw 11 shutout innings in Stanwood’s 1-0 win against Cascade. Jeans allowed two hits and struck out 12.

Samantha Munger took the loss despite allowing just an unearned run in 11 innings. She allowed six hits and struck out 11.

— Alyssa Egan allowed three hits in seven scoreless innings as Monroe shut out Lake Stevens, 2-0.

— Chelsea Crews tripled and drove in a run in Mountlake Terrace’s 4-3, eight-inning win against Kamiak.

— Everett’s Lauren Kesterson doubled, tripled twice, drove in two runs and scored four times in a 9-1 win against Oak Harbor.

Lexie Levin allowed an unearned run on two hits in seven innings.

— Franklin Pierce’s Kelli Crawford allowed three runs (one earned) on six hits in complete-game, 8-3 win against Lakes.

Krystalani Yockman hit a solo home run for Lakes.

— Amanda Klug was 3-4 with a double, triple, two RBI and three runs scored as Forest Ridge beat University Prep, 12-2. Klug also allowed an earned run on two hits in six innings. She struck out five with no walks.

Teammate Clarice Costello was 4-4 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored.

— Liberty’s Marissa Jeffers hit a grand slam in a 6-5 loss to Bellevue.

— Sylvie Thomas allowed two hits in five scoreless innings as Holy Names blanked Beamer, 10-0.

— Natalie Smith homered and pitched five scoreless innings as Nathan Hale shut out Ingraham, 11-0. Smith allowed three hits and struck out nine.

— Veronica Dalton homered and drove in three runs as Shorecrest beat Lynnwood, 8-2. Amanda Hartley allowed two runs on five hits in a complete game.

— Donna Leet hit a solo homer in Lakeside’s 9-8 win against Franklin. She also earned the win, striking out 11.

— Dani Jackman hit a solo homer and allowed an earned run in a complete-game, 6-2 win against Glacier Peak.

— Kasey Sporrong allowed four hits in seven shutout innings as Lindbergh beat Highline, 7-0. Adrianna Bernal drove in four runs.

— Mount Si’s Alex Johnson pitched six scoreless innings in a 10-0 win against Interlake. Lauren Smith was 4-4 with two RBI.

In the second game of their doubleheader, Stef Rabitoy hit the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Interlake a 6-5 win.

Boys soccer:

— Joel Dressler scored twice in Franklin Pierce’s 4-1 win against Peninsula.

— Suku Hudson assisted both of Cory McLellan goals in Emerald Ridge’s 3-1 win against Bethel.

— Ugo Okoli scored both of Beamer’s goals in a 2-1 win against Decatur.

— Darren Carpenter scored twice in Rogers’ 8-0 win against Spanaway Lake. Andrew Anderson, Connor Saxe and Ben Trahan split the shutout.

— Kentwood’s Cody Crook scored twice in a 3-2 win against Kent-Meridian.

— Austin Egerton scored twice in Jefferson’s 2-0 win against Kentridge. Chris Hicks recorded the shutout.

— Adam Zeman scored two goals in Auburn Riverside’s 4-0 win against Kentlake. Tanner Fairweather got the shutout.
