How to contribute toward Mike Roy’s education

When I wrote this story about Mike Roy from Kentwood, his sister (and guardian) Kim thought she setting up what would be called the Mike Roy Scholarship Fund so that anyone interested could help with his upcoming college expenses.

However, Kim found out she could not set the account up the way she had hoped because the family is not a non-profit organization.

So what she has been able to set up at the Bank of America is the Mike Roy Education Checking Account, and you should be able to make a contribution at any branch using that information.

I’ve had a couple of calls about it, so I wanted to straighten it out. The family definitely can use the help. If there is any problem when you go to contribute, you can also mention that the account was opened at the Maple Valley branch.
