For Federal Way — Nick Tanielu 3-4, 3B, 2 RBI; Brett Evans 2-2, 2 runs, RBI; Adam Yonker 1-2, BB, 2 runs, RBI; T.J. Horsall 1-3, 3-run HR in 1st. Elliott Morris allowed 1 run on four hits, striking out seven with two walks and also contributed an RBI single.
For Gig Harbor — Justin Bonnell 2-2.
Federal Way advances as the district’s No. 2 seed to state and plays in the regional at Kent Memorial Park next Saturday against the No. 2 team from District 1, which will be the loser of today’s 2 p.m. championship game between Mountlake Terrace and Kamiak.
Gig Harbor has one more shot to qualify for state and plays the winner of this next game at Heidelberg between Tahoma and Bellarmine Prep, scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

12:02 — Federal Way scored seven runs in the first inning — three on a home run by No. 9 hitter Taylor Horsfall — and tacked on two more in the second to take a 9-0 lead over Gig Harbor in a winner-to-state baseball game of the West Central District 4A tournament at Heidelberg Park in Tacoma.
Gig Harbor, the Narrows League champion, just got on the board with a run in the bottom of the third, so it’s 9-1.
