I received an e-mail from Chad Fahnlander informing me (along with the SPSL 4A softball coaches) that he is stepping down as head softball coach at Jefferson.
He’s done an outstanding job with the program since taking over seven years ago. The Raiders qualified for the state tournament this season, their third trip in the past four years.
Here’s the letter:
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
This letter is to inform you that I am resigning from my position as the Varsity Fastpitch Coach. During the seven years here I have enjoyed my time while coaching and feel grateful for the knowledge and friendships that I have gained.
When I accepted this job in the fall of 2003 my children were 4 and 2, they are now soon to be 11 and 9. Family is everything to me and I have preached numerous times to my teams that in order to be successful you must become a family. It is now time for me to be home and watch over my family and to create those memories that I have helped create for many young fastpitch players at Thomas Jefferson High School.
Thank you so much for the friendship, I am truly blessed.
