Class 4A and 3A state girls soccer rankings — Week 4

There are not a lot of changes in the state girls soccer rankings this week.

None of the Top 10 teams in Class 4A or 3A lost last week, leaving the order the same in 4A while 3A was re-arranged slightly.

Skyline, No. 1 in 4A, continued to roll with its sixth shutout of the season, defeating Newport, 2-0.

The No. 4-ranked Tahoma Bears also have shut out all of their opponents, including two more last week.

The only two teams that experienced anything but a victory were No. 6 Mead, which tied against Post Falls, Idaho, 1-1; and No. 10 Woodinville, which played to a 3-3 tie with Roosevelt.

The KingCo’s strength also is evident from the type of season turned in so far by Bothell, which improved to 6-1-1 and is pounding on the door of the Top 10, as is the WesCo’s Marysville-Pilchuck (6-1-0).

There was only a mild touch up to the 3A rankings.

The Southridge Suns of Kennewick scooted up a spot to No. 4, while Bonney Lake moved up three positions to No. 5.

Seattle Prep moved down from No. 4 to No. 7 because of the Panthers’ two ties last week, which really signaled nothing more than the quality of play among the Metro League’s private schools this season.

Lakeside of Seattle stayed on the radar with help from its scoreless ties against Seattle Prep and Holy Names last week.

Another team about to crack the top 10 in 3A is Kelso, which improved to 7-0-0. Juanita (4-2-0) also is surging with impressive shutouts over Mount Si and Bellevue last week.
