Roeder leads Issaquah to 3-1 volleyball win over Woodinville

Rachel Roeder enjoyed a career night to lead fourth-ranked Issaquah to a 3-1 victory over No. 3 Woodinville Monday night in a KingCo 4A volleyball showdown.

Game scores were 25-17, 22-25, 25-16, 25-13.

Roeder accounted for 41 points as she piled up 29 kills, 9 aces and 3 blocks, tossing in 7 digs as well.

“She was incredibly focused and went out and played the bet match she’s ever played for me,” Issaquah coach Todd Parsons said.

He also singled out the play of setter Riley Sorenson, who had 50 assists and 5 aces.

Parsons said not to let the game scores fool you.

“It wasn’t that lopsided,” he said. “Woovinville really is very, very good. I just think we played one of the best matches I might have ever seen Issaquah play.”

Woodinville was led by Ali Forde with 16 kills. Carmen Vasilatos added 34 assists and 13 digs.

Both teams were unbeaten in league play.
