Class 4A and 3A state football rankings — Week 7

Which teams belong in the final two spots in the Class 4A state rankings?

It’s an interesting question.

Olympia, Rogers and Bellarmine Prep could all make an argument for Nos. 9 and 10.

However, since Eastlake lost to Central Kitsap in Week 1, the Wolves have won their last six games. After knocking off Issaquah in three overtimes last week — the Eagles were ranked No. 6 — Eastlake earned a spot in the top 10, jumping into the rankings for the first time this year at No. 9.

The Wolves’ reward is a trip up the street to play top-ranked Skyline this week.

I considered dropping Issaquah out of the top 10. However, it’s hard to drop a team from the rankings after losing a close game to a talented team in triple overtime. So, instead of dropping the Eagles out, I moved them down to No. 10.

All of the teams below Issaquah moved up one spot, except Kentlake, which fell out of the rankings after losing to Auburn.

In 3A, the top 10 remains unchanged after every team picked up a win.

Here are the complete Class 4A and 3A rankings:
