Sorry this week’s poll is later than usual, but’s been a hectic day.
I’m excited to finally get out to see some of the ranked teams play this weekend in a couple of the district tournaments, and especially looking forward to state the following week.
So, I’m going to keep this short. In 4A, there are just two major changes — Monroe jumps back into the rankings after last week’s 3-0 win over Snohomish, which is now back on the bubble. And Tahoma drops off in part because of the 3-0 loss to Graham-Kapowsin in the SPSL title match, but also because I’ve gotten feedback from coaches who believe Curtis just might be the second best team in the SPSL.
Gig Harbor stays in despite the loss to Olympia in the Narrows League final.
In 3A, Holy Names is red hot and — not surprisingly — playing its best volleyball at the right time. With recent wins over Blanchet and Seattle Prep, the Cougars vault into the top-10 at No. 9 — right behind Auburn Mountainview, which tool second-ranked Kennedy to five sets on Saturday.
We’ll talk more volleyball later in the week.
