Auburn lineman Danny Shelton picks Washington

Word out of the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl is that Auburn lineman Danny Shelton has picked Washington, according to several Twitter reports.

Tireless reporter Bob Condotta has confirmed the news through Shelton’s mother, Oneone, who told the Times this afternoon that he committed to UW “because it’s close to us and they have a good program, too.”

Shelton, the 6-3, 286-pound standout, picked the Huskies over Oregon. It’s more good news for a program still basking in the glow of a Holiday Bowl win over Nebraska.

I am out of the office on a furlough day today, but Condotta is on top of it. Here’s a link to the UW football blog.
