I’m here at Steilacoom High School for the Northwest All-Stars Assist For Life event, which features four quality girls basketball games.
Emerald Ridge (11-1), on the cusp of making the 4A rankings, is playing Auburn Mountainview (9-3, ranked No. 10 in 3A) right now. Mountainview leads 24-22 at the half. ER is without one of its best players, 6-2 Jasmine Parker, who is dealing with a family issue, according to coach G.C. Hillburn.
Next up, at 3 p.m., is a 3A game between red-hot Lake Washingington, which has won nine in a row since a 1-3 start, against Bonney Lake (5-7), which knocked off No. 7 Lakes this past week.
Then comes two 4A matchups, and I’m looking forward to both. No. 4 Issaquah (8-3), which picked up its losses in the quality Nike Tournament of Champions last month, takes on No. 7 Bellarmine Prep of Tacoma (9-2) at 5 p.m.
The final game, scheduled for 7 p.m., features top-ranked Federal Way (11-1, with the loss against an Idaho team) against Garfield (5-6), which has struggled but has a lot of talent.
I’ll update as I can at the top of the bog and republish, to make sure you can find the info.
