With the playoffs on the horizon, the top half of both the Class 4A and 3A rankings is beginning to settle into place.

Well … sort of. In a season full of upsets, it seems like this is about as settled as the rankings will get before the state playoffs begin.

There wasn’t a lot of movement this week. The top four spots in 4A remain the same. Kentwood dropped out of the rankings after losing twice, to No. 4 Kentridge and Mount Rainier.

Rogers moves up to take the No. 5 spot vacated by the Conquerors. Auburn, Curtis and Davis all moved up one spot, while Gonzaga Prep entered the rankings at No. 9.

If you’re looking for a 4A game to attend on Tuesday, check out Kentridge at No. 6 Auburn. The Chargers won the last meeting, 61-51, Jan. 4.

In the top five in 3A Kamiakin and Lincoln swapped places after the Abes fell to Foss Friday. The only other change in the rankings is Hudson’s Bay falls out after losing twice last week.

It was a tough choice to pick a team to place at No. 10. I debated between Decatur and University. Decatur faces a tough matchup with sixth-ranked Lakes on Tuesday and a win there could shoot the Gators into the rankings next week.

There’s another big game on Tuesday with O’Dea going on the road to play Seattle Prep. I’m planning on being there.
