A touching tribute at Chief Sealth

When the Chief Sealth boys basketball team honored its seniors last week before playing West Seattle, the Seahawks were also able to recognize Lisa Hara.

Hara, who was a teacher at the school before suffering a debilitating stroke over the summer, also helped mentor senior point guard Tre’Von Lane. She was able to attend a pregame ceremony honoring the seniors.

I recently wrote about Lane, who also coaches the school’s freshman team. During the ceremony, Lane presented Hara with a framed copy of the story. It was a touching moment and coach Colin Slingsby passed along this photo I wanted to share.

Here is the story.
