Four Washington high-school volleyball players, including three from the Greater Seattle area, were named to the 2010 PrepVolleyball.com All-America list.
Rachel Roeder from Issaquah, Leigh-Ann Haataja from Jackson and Gabby Bird-Vogel from Seattle Prep made the cut of 150 players, along with Pullman’s Shelby Cheslek.
Roeder earlier was named the state player of the year after leading the Eagles to the Class 4A sate championship match. There they ran into a red-hot Jackson team, sparked by Haataja. Bird-Vogel keyed Prep’s run to the 3A title, while Cheslek was a force as Pullman repeated as 2A champs.
A few others from the state made the lengthy honorable mention lists – Richland senior Chelsey Bettinson (“Highest Honorable Mention”), Jackson sophomore Emmy Allen (“Special Mention”), Mount Si senior Zoe Gogan (“Special Mention”), Pullman senior Stephanie Logan (“Special Mention”) and Bishop Blanchet senior Chloe Sliger (“Special Mention”).
