High-school baseball highlights from Tuesday

Here is a look back at Tuesday’s high-school baseball action.

Redmond 12, Eastlake 1 (six innings)

— After dropping a pair to Southridge (Kennewick), Redmond got back on track in a big way. Zach Abbruzza was 4 for 4 with two triples and seven RBI. You can see him drive in a pair in the video below.

Jake Levin was 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored. Dylan Davis struck out four and gave up one hit over four innings, making it tough for the Wolves to score, despite walking seven.


Garfield 3, Ballard 1

Spencer Scott was 2 for 3 with two RBI, while John Trupin drove in the Bulldogs’ third run.

Trupin also threw a complete game, scattering seven hits and striking out seven, while allowing one run.

Ryan Kangas went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI for the Beavers.

Newport 1, Issaquah 0

Cole Wiper struck out eight over five innings and Jared Fisher came on relief to pick up his second win of the season.

Daniel Altchech drove in the game’s only run.

Bothell 7, Roosevelt 6

— Bothell’s Brian McAfee was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI, Brad Monson also drove in a pair for the Cougars.

Woodinville 5, Inglemoor 1

Spencer Green gave up one run on hit and struck out eight over six innings for Woodinville.

Carl Svanevik went 2 for 2 and scored twice.

Auburn Riverside 10, Mount Rainier 0

Mike Rucker scattered five hits and struck out 11 over six scoreless innings to lead Auburn Riverside.

Federal Way 8, Bethel 1

— Federal Way’s Austin Weber went 2 for 4 with a homer and three RBI. He also pitched and picked up the victory.

Tahoma 21, Kent-Meridian 0

Reed Johnson went 3 for 5 with two RBI and three runs scored, while Brian Olson homered for Tahoma. Kyler Swan also homered and drove in four and Tyler Watkins went 4 for 4 with a triple and three RBI.

Kentlake 9, Jefferson 0

Ryan Shelton allowed one hit and struck out eight over five scoreless innings to lead Kentlake. Brian Hartnett homered, Jake Ross doubled and drove in three runs and Tanner Lucas doubled and drove in a pair.

Kentridge 8, Kentwood 3

Sheldon Stober went 3 for 5 with a double, an RBI and two run scored for Kentridge.

J.T. Evenson and Cash McGwire homered for Kentwood.

Mount Si 11, Skyline 5

Tim Proudfoot homered and Robb Lane went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI lead Mount Si.

Highline 17, Foster 1

— Highline’s Caleb Ramirez homered and drove in two, while Logan Brickell and Jonny Locher were 3 for 3 with two RBI.

Sammamish 20, Lindbergh 15

Chris Strain went 3 for 5 with a homer, five RBI and two runs scored for Sammamish. Paul Heywood was 2 for 5 with three RBI and three runs scored.

Cameron Callen went 2 for 5 with a double, two runs scored and four RBI.

Mountlake Terrace 5, Mercer Island 2

Alex Hatch struck out 11 and allowed two runs on three hits, while Keegan Volpone homered and scored three times to lead Mountlake Terrace past the Islander.

Jordan Richartz homered, doubled and drove in two for Mercer Island.

Arlington 3, Shorecrest 0

Austin Taylor gave up two hits and struck out six during a complete-game shutout.

Interlake 14, Renton 2

— Interlake’s Austin Strothers allowed two runs on five hits and struck out seven during a complete-game victory over Renton.

Carl Snaring went 2 for 4 with a triple and four RBI.
