Local girls to represent state at US Lacrosse tournament

Here is a press release that was sent in Monday:

SEATTLE – Twenty-one high school girls from Washington state have been selected by the Washington Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association to represent Washington state in the US Lacrosse Women’s Division National Tournament, May 28 and 29 at Stony Brook University in New York.

Established in 1933, the Women’s Division National Tournament is one of the oldest lacrosse tournaments in the US. The local standouts will compete among 60 teams from across the US in the schoolgirl’s division for high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors.

Seattle selectees include four students representing Ballard High School, Seattle Prep, the Lakeside School and Garfield High School.

Eastside selectees include nine students representing Interlake High School, Redmond High School, Skyline High School, Woodinville High School, the Eastside Catholic School, and Forest Ridge School.

Everett-area selectees include five students representing Archbishop Murphy High School, Glacier Peak High School, Snohomish High School, and Kamiak High School.

Others selectees include one student each from Silverdale’s Central Kitsap High School, Auburn-Riverside High School in Auburn, and Tacoma’s Stadium High School.
