Thanks to this lovely weather, softball games were few and far between on Tuesday, but here are some highlights from the ones reported to The Times (note that we got scores only for a couple of games):
Rogers 21, Curtis 6
Kimberly Klock hammered two triples and a pair of singles, driving in eight runs, while Lana Van Dyken and Sydney Norris both went 3-for-3. For Curtis, Molly Oshikawa was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.
Edmonds-Woodway 2, Cascade 1
The Warriors won despite getting just two hits off Samantha Munger, who struck out seven and walked four. Munger also went 2-for-3 with a triple. Katelynn Lafferty scattered five hits, struck out six and walked one to earn the victory.
Lakeside 16, Franklin 6
Donna Leet struck out 10 in six innings, tossing a two-hiiter, and got plenty of offensive help as the Lions pushed 13 runs across in the first frame. No hitting highlights were reported.
Mountlake Terrace 18, Shorecrest 9
The Hawks trailed 6-0 before scoring 13 times in the third. Chelsea Crews went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBI, while Mindy James drove in four with four singles.
