Yes, believe it or not (and honestly I was a bit shocked, considering the amount of rain we got down in the South End), there were a handful of softball games played Wednesday. Here are some highlights, based on information reported to The Times:
Inglemoor 15, Bothell 4
Holly Sandborg went 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBI to lead the Vikings. Kylie Acacio also was 2-for-3, spanking a double. She drove in three and scored three times plus stole a base. Bothell’s Arista Honey was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and three RBI.
Holy Names 11, Lakeside 1
Sylvie Thomas improved to 5-0 with the win for the ninth-ranked Cougars, tossing a one-hitter. Teammate Riley Hughes tripled (only Holy Names offensive highlight shown). Donna Leet had Lakeside’s lone hit, also a triple.
Lynnwood 3, Edmonds-Woodway 2 (8 innings)
After E-W scored one in the top of the eighth, Lynnwood came up with two in the bottom half to win. Jasmine Edwards led the Royals by going 3-for-4 with a double and one run scored. Kelsey Parker was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Jessica Gott picked up the victory on the mound, striking out nine. For E-W, Brooklyn Bailey had a home run and Sydney Forseth tripled.
