Class 4A and 3A high-school softball rankings — Week 3

Due to the weather, there weren’t a whole lot of softball games played last week — especialy on this side of the state.

And that means there aren’t a whole lot of changes in this week’s state rankings.

The most movement comes in 4A, where Battle Ground drops from No. 5 to No. 10 after losing to two-run games to Heritage (the 4A state runnerup last season) and Woodland (the defending 2A champion).

Unbeaten Wenatchee slides ahead of Tahoma, and Jackson of Mill Creek joins the top-10 at No. 9 after winning five straight following that opening loss to Arlington. Snohomish, meanwhile, falls back to the watch list after losing to Monroe.

In 3A, the only change is flip-flopping Juanita and Everett. Everett lost a wild one to Jackson, 14-11. Southridge hangs in at No. 2 despite losing to Richland (ranked No. 5 in 4A). The Suns owe all three of their losses to larger schools, including a pair to No. 2 Walla Walla).

University stays put despite a one-run loss to Mead, which is ranked No. 8 in 4A.

Hopefully the weather cooperates a little better this week!
