A quick update on high-school football recruiting

Last week I posted an interview with Bellevue lineman Jake Eldrenkamp.

Since I talked to him, things have continued to pick up. He added his second Pac-12 offer (Utah) Wednesday night and recently returned from an unofficial visit to Stanford and trip to some Ivy League schools where he also landed an offer to play at Yale, which does not offer athletic scholarships.

I also received an e-mail from former Interlake coach Sheldon Cross, who told me Saints quarterback Matt Malos will play at Occidental College in Los Angeles. mason21_7.JPG

Malos finished with more than 7,000 yards and 66 touchdowns through the air and more than 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns rushing.

Cross, who left Interlake to become a graduate assistant at Washington State is now the offensive coordinator at New Mexico Highlands, a Division II school.
