Highlights from Thursday’s lone two softball games

Not sure if there were other softball games played in the area that weren’t reported, but we only got scores from the doubleheader between Auburn Mountainview and Decatur, which the Lions swept, 10-0 and 22-1.

Alleyah Armendariz had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI in the first game and 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs in the second.

Delany Colburn pitched a five-inning no-hitter in the opener, striking out six and walking five. She then used her bat to help out in the second, going 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI and three runs scored. Riley Decker (4-for-5, 2 runs, 1 RBI) and Amanda Colella (3-for-3, 2 runs, 1 RBI) also were key parts of the 17-hit attack in the nightcap.
