The postseason is in full swing this week. I’ll be heading out to watch a pair of KingCo 4A playoff games later today.
But first, let’s look at this week’s high-school baseball state rankings. There was some shuffling in 4A, with two new teams joining the top 10.
The top five remains the same this week (Jackson, Tahoma, Ferris, Puyallup and Richland). Newport, which has won eight straight, jumps to No. 6 and Bothell, which has also won eight in a row, is now No. 7. Olympia climbs into the rankings at No. 8 with Walla Walla and Lake Stevens rounding out the top 10.
In Class 3A, Camas remains unbeaten and has a firm grasp on that top spot. There are no new teams in the top 10 this week, but Eastside Catholic does drop a few spots down to No. 9.
Sorry for the short rankings post this week. It’s a busy day, but there will be plenty of baseball coverage all week. It’s really tough to come by accurate records for some teams this time of year, so if you see one that needs to be updated, let me know.
