Class 4A and 3A high-school boys soccer rankings — Week 8

By MATT MASSEY

Special to The Seattle Times

There’s a revolving door at the top. There are new No. 1s in both Class 4A and 3A boys soccer after this week.

The Shorecrest Scots finally broke through, and in a big way.

They are the new No. 1 in Class 3A.

Shorecrest, whose only previous loss of the season came to then No. 1 Glacier Peak, put it all together and knocked off the Grizzles 3-0 last Monday.

Glenn Paden delivered with a goal and two assists in the victory that pushed the Scots (16-1-0) to the top of the 3A rankings.

Ferris of Spokane fell 2-1 to Greater Spokane League (GSL) rival Mead in the opening round of district play on Wednesday. That opened the door for Jackson (16-1-0) to claim the vacated No. 1 spot in 4A, vaulting them from No. 5 last week after a 2-0 week.

The Timberwolves stopped Kamiak 3-0 on Monday and Edmonds-Woodway 4-0 on Wednesday to cap off near-perfect WesCo 4A season.

Marysville-Pilchuck (12-4-1), chasing Jackson all season, dropped out of the top 10 from No. 5 with three losses in a row during the final week of the WesCo 4A season.

Gig Harbor, tied for the Narrows League lead with No. 3 Bellarmine Prep, moved into the 4A top 10 with the late fall of Marysville-Pilchuck. Bellarmine Prep dipped to No. 4 from No. 2.

Southridge of Kennewick moved up to No. 4 in 3A from No. 5.
