Some high-school softball highlights from Tuesday

There was some tournament play in softball on Tuesday, as well as a few nonleague games, and here are some highlights of the games reported to The Times:

KingCo 4A Tournament

Newport 7, Bothell 5

I just got some Newport highlights, so wanted to add them quickly. Bridget Raferty hit a two-run homer and Megan Page had a solo shot, while Indiana Coxey doubled twice. Kayla Reynolds got the win and Kaitlin Sahlinger picked up the save. Bothell’s Kendra Heyer went 2-for-3 with a triple.

Ballard 2, Issaquah 1

Andrea Jewett pitched a two-hitter, striking out nine and walking just two. Brielle Bray took the tough loss, despite not allowing an earned run (Issquah committed three errors). She scattered four hits, also struck out nine and walked one.

Inglemoor 8, Redmond 7

Down 7-0, the Vikings exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the sixth. Shelby Johnston went 3-for-4, while Natalie Damen doubled and drove in three. For Redmond, Lindsay Cristobal and Christine Ho each had two hits.

Northwest 4A District Tournament

Marysville-Pilchuck 9, Edmonds-Woodway 0

No details reported.

Marysville-Pilchuck 10, Cascade 1

We didn’t even get this score, along with some others from the tournament, but I found them on the Northwest District website and picked up a couple of highlights from the Everett Herald. Third-ranked MP clinched a state berth with this victory, highlighted by a pair of home runs by Riley Fritz, accounting for five RBI. Fritz also threw a complete-game four-hitter.

Jackson 9, Snohomish 7

No details reported from the first-round game.

Jackson 7, Arlington 3

Again, some of this info is courtesy of the Everett Herald. The Timberwolves also punched their ticket to state with the upset of No. 9 Arlington, after losing both regular-season games to the Eagles. Matti Tetzlaff keyed a seven-run fifth inning with a grand slam.

Arlington 13, Kamiak 3

No details reported from the first-round game.

Cascade 3, Monroe 2

No details reported from the first-round game.

Monroe 19, Edmonds-Woodway 0

No details reported from the loser-out consolation game.

Kamiak 14, Snohomish 4

No details reported from the loser-out consolation game.

Other games

Bonney Lake 6, Tahoma 5

In a tune-up for the playoffs between ranked teams, Bonney Lake (No. 6 in 3A) got a triple, double and three RBI from Taylor Watkins, while Kali Patterson went 3-for-4 and Christian McKone was 2-for-3. Tahoma’s Jordan Walley homered and drove in four.

Orting 14, Cascade Christian 3

Courtney Dodd allowed just two hits and got offensive support from Hollie Wood (2-for-4, 4 RBI), Courtney Henson (2-for-4, 3B, RBI) and Kierra Carson (1-for-2, 2B, 2 RBI).

Seattle Christian 13, Lindbergh 3

Benita Beale went 4-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored, while Kelli Kumasaka was 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs. Lindbergh’s Maria Cornell had three hits and an RBI.
