Get your Class 3A softball updates here

I’m at the beautiful Regional Athletic Complex (RAC) in Lacey for the Class 3A state softball tournament.

Follow the tournament here and on twitter: http://twitter.com/seatimespreps

Last of the loser-out games, and that’s it until tomorrow:

Bonney Lake 24, Mount Spokane 1

Loser-out games

Everett 7, Mountlake Terrace 5

Kamiakin 4, Peninsula 1

University 13, Mount Si 9

The semifinals are set. Bellevue plays Juanita and Bainbridge faces Kelso, both at 9 a.m.

Bellevue knocked off Kamiakin in the quarterfinals, 4-3 in nine innings.

Juanita smoked Mount Si, 10-1.

Bainbridge blanked Mount Spokane, 6-0.

Kelso ended Mountlake Terrace’s magical run, 6-5.

Top-ranked Holy Names is out of the tournament, losing 9-8 to University in consolation play.

Updates on consolation play (loser-out):

Everett 5, Wilson 4

Bonney Lake 12, Sedro-Woolley 2

Peninsula 9, Capital 4

Here’s the final first-round game:

Kelso 14, Holy Names 9, 8 innings

Bainbridge and Mount Spokane both win and advance to the quarterfinals:

Bainbridge 8, Peninsula 0

Mount Spokane 7, Capital 2

Two more teams on to the quarterfinals:

Bainbridge 8, Peninsula 0

Mountlake Terrace 11, University 8

Here are results from the the first four games:

Mount Si 8, Wilson 7 (9 innings)

Juanita 9, Everett 3

Bellevue 7, Bonney Lake 1

Kamiakin 6, Sedro-Woolley 2

Great opening round for KingCo! So, Mount Si plays Juanita (again) in one quarterfinal game and Bellevue plays Kamiakin in another, both at 4 p.m.

Next up are these first-round games:

Capital vs. Mount Spokane

Bainbridge vs. Peninsula

Kelso vs. Holy Names

University vs. Mountlake Terrace

This from an earlier post:

These fields have artificial surfaces, so field conditions aren’t really going to be a factor, fortunately. But heavy rain could cause delays if they can’t keep a dry ball in each pitcher’s hand.

We just had a pretty big rain shower and they delayed infield warmups for about 10 minutes, so the 10 a.m. games will start just a little late.

I’ll be blogging scores and a few highlights throughout the day, and you can also follow the tournament on twitter.
