The Edmonds School District is running its fourth annual Girls Basketball Summer Shootout Tournament this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Meadowdale, Lynnwood, Edmonds-Woodway and Mountlake Terrace high schools.
Included in the field is Holy Names, the defending Class 3A state champion. Others competing are Meadowdale, Mercer Island, Seattle Prep, Edmonds-Woodway, Lynnwood, Skyline, Lake Stevens, Shorecrest, Emerald Ridge, Tahoma, West Valley (Yakima), Issaquah, Archbishop Murphy and Stanwood.
Admission will be $4 on Friday and $5 on Saturday and Sunday (championship bracket).
Games will run from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The varsity championship game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at Meadowdale.
This year the district has also partnered with the Seattle Storm to host a Storm traveling practice at Edmonds Woodway on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2:30. I The event will be free and open to the public, but spectators wishing to stay to watch great high school basketball will be asked to pay an entrance fee.
