H206 Charity Basketball Classic — rosters

The H206 Charity Basketball Classic is set for July 23 at KeyArena. Since there are so many former local high-school standouts, it seemed appropriate to post a reminder here on the blog.

People who follow local hoops know the names of the Seattle players, guys like Jamal Crawford, Brandon Roy and Spencer Hawes. But let’s take a minute to look at some of the other guys, who will represent The League.

Here is The League’s roster:

Michael Beasley — The No. 2 pick in the 2008 draft out of Kansas State just finished his third NBA season, averaging 19.2 points for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Dorell Wright — Wright was a first-round pick by the Heat in 2004, and averaged 16.4 points with Golden State last season. I had the privilege of interviewing Wright a few times while working in Florida.

Klay Thompson — Thompson needs little introduction after playing his college basketball at Washington State. He was taken No. 11 overall by Golden State in this year’s draft.

Marcus Banks — Another former first-round pick.

Nolan Smith — After a successful college career at Duke, Smith was selected by the Trail Blazers with the No. 21 overall pick this year.

Troy Bell — Bell was a first-round pick in 2003.

Craig Smith — Spent the 2010-11 season with the Clippers.

Pooh Jeter — The point guard played for Sacramento last season.
