When I walked into the Sparks Firehouse Deli just outside of Sparks Stadium in Puyallup Wednesday, it was easy to pick out Joshua Garnett.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman from Puyallup High School stood up with a big smile on his face and extended a hand that swallowed mine.
Let’s put it this way, he passes the eye test at first glance. He’s one of the top recruits in the country — he’s listed at No. 22 overall by Rivals.com and No. 38 overall by Scout.com — and just picked up an offer to play football for the University of Miami.
Garnett spent some time talking about the recruiting process, his summer, the upcoming season and the possibility of playing college football with Mariner running back KeiVarae Russell.
