Walker Williams, Jeff Lindquist to be honored this week

Mercer Island quarterback Jeff Lindquist and Tacoma Baptist lineman Walker Williams will be formally invited to the inaugural Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl during ceremonies this week.

Lindquist will receive his invitation Dec. 2, while Williams gets his Dec. 1.

Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl representatives are coming to Tacoma on Thursday, Dec. 1 and Mercer Island on Friday, Dec. 2 to present Walker Williams and Jeff Lindquist with their invitations to the inaugural bowl game. The events will include a welcome presentation from bowl representatives and a special presentation of game apparel.

The classic East versus West gridiron matchup, presented by JuniorRank Sports in partnership with the United States Marine Corps, will feature 100 of the nation’s most highly recruited high school football players and is slated to take place on Jan. 3, 2012, in Phoenix, Ariz. at the height of bowl season.

Throughout the fall and high school football season, Semper Fidelis Bowl Selection Committee members will be focusing their attention on standout athletes around the country. Invitations to both the Semper Fidelis Bowl and the Proving Ground Football Combine will be issued over the coming months on a rolling basis until each roster is filled.
