Class 4A and 3A girls basketball rankings — Week 2

There weren’t a ton of high-school girls basketball games played last week.

A few of the top-10 teams don’t jump into action until this week, so you won’t see many changes in the new installment of rankings.

Two ranked 4A teams lost. No. 8 Eastlake fell by five points to Juanita, which still sits at No. 5 in Class 3A (and possibly should be higher). Juanita is really good, from what I’m hearing, so I’m not going to penalize Eastlake. The Wolves have another big test tonight (Monday) at No. 6 Stanwood.

It should be a telling week for Stanwood, too. The Spartans also play No. 4 Lake Stevens Friday.

Another interesting game on tonight’s schedule is Prairie (No. 1 in 3A) vs. Skyview (No. 7 in 4A).

The other ranked 4A team that lost was Jackson. The Timberwolves went down against a pretty good Lynnwood team (which then lost to Inglemoor, which lost to Auburn Riverside). I’m keeing Jackson in at No. 10, and we’ll see how Wednesday’s game goes against Edmonds-Woodway.

I’ve been impressed with the start by Auburn Riverside (wins over Edmonds-Woodway and Inglemoor). I plan to get out to see Thursday’s game between the Ravens and No. 2 Mount Rainier.

In 3A, Seattle Prep drops out after losing to Lakeside, which is knocking on the door. The Lions lost by a point to Jackson Saturday. But this week I’m going with Lakes at No. 9. And Glacier Peak stays in despite losing to Lake Stevens, but slips to No. 10.

So, have a look at this week’s rankings and let me hear what you think:
