K Kast: Taylor Barton talks about Jake Heaps and recruiting

With news coming out this week that former Skyline quarterback Jake Heaps is transferring from Brigham Young, we figured it would be a good time to check in with former Washington quarterback Taylor Barton, who runs the Barton Football Academy and operates www.northwesteliteindex.com

Barton provides more insight on Heaps’ decision, in addition to talking about local high-school recruiting.

He has some interesting things to say about O’Dea defensive back Jayshawn Jordan, Bothell receiver Trent Sewell and two talented players from Federal Way in Uso Olive and D.J. May.

After our talk with Barton, I stopped by Oskar’s Kitchen to catch up with Shawn Kemp, who was at Tuesday night’s game high-school hoops game between top-ranked Seattle Prep and No. 3 Rainier Beach.

I asked him about what it’s like to watch those games, the atmosphere (Spencer Hawes, Jamal Crawford and Will Conroy, along with Seattle U coach Cameron Dollar were all there) and the play of Seattle Prep senior Mitch Brewe.

There is plenty of great stuff, check it out:
