Some high-school girls basketball highlights from Thursday

Ho! Ho! Ho! Here we go with some highlights from the high-school girls basketball games reported to The Times Thursday. I have next week off, so I wish you all Happy Holidays and I’ll pick up the highlights again the first week of January (I believe Mason will blog the girls as well as the boys next week, but am not sure).

Head-Royce Holiday Classic

Lakes 72, Head-Royce (Oakland, Calif.) 33

No details reported, but I thought I’d note the score, since we have Lakes of Tacoma ranked No. 8 in Class 3A.

Nike Tournament of Champions

Eastlake 46, ThunderRidge (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) 36

A nice tournament by the Wolves, who went 3-1 in Arizona. Kendra Morrison and Marijke Vandershaaf set the pace in this one with 11 points each.

St. Francis (Sacramento) 50, Auburn Mountainview 41

No details reported. The Lions, ranked No. 4 in 3A, finished 1-3 in the tourney, but all three losses were by 9 points or less.

ShoWare Shootout

Mount Rainier 67, White River 29

The McPhee twins combined for 31 points (Brittany had 17 and Jordan 14) and Kiana Gandy added 13 for the Rams, ranked No. 2 in 4A. Cassidy France topped White River with 12. The Hornets, who hope to make a run at the 2A state title, were 6-0 coming in.

Cascade Christian 46, Bonney Lake 39

Kadyn Coltom and Kaycee Creech set the pace with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Kayla Seger had 10 for Bonney Lake.

Katie Hawkins hit for 20 and got help from Allie Weathersby (14) and Nicole Fausey (11).

Shorecrest 51, Meadowdale 36

India Matheson (17) and Brianne Lasconia (13) led the way. Margreet Barhoum pumped in 18 for the Mavs.

Mountlake Terrace 48, Oak Harbor 31

Maddy Kristjanson (16) and Shaian Pagaling (13) keyed the victory. The Wildcats got 10 each from Annie Leete and Kelsey Rankin.
