Keep an eye on these national high-school football games

I just posted a note about the Semper Fidelis All American Bowl and I wanted to take a minute to mention the other big games featuring top-tier Washington talent.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be televised on NBC.

The West roster features Mariner running back KeiVarae Russell, who recently gave a verbal commitment to play college football at Notre Dame. He will be joined by Lakes teammates, lineman Zach Banner and athlete Cedric Dozier.

Also, I should have mentioned earlier that Bonney Lake coach Chad Barrett will be an assistant at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Then there’s the Under Armour All-America game, which is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. The game will be televised on ESPN and will feature Puyallup lineman Josh Garnett.
