U.S. Army All-American Bowl quick notes

I watched most of Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl and was impressed with the play of Washington-bound quarterback Cyler Miles.

Miles, named one of the game’s MVPs, completed 7 of 8 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for a 4-yard touchdown in front of a record crowd of 39,011.

That performance, combined with the effort of Mercer Island quarterback Jeff Lindquist at the Semper Fidelis All American Bowl, seems to signal that Washington’s future is solid at that position.

Mariner running back KeiVarae Russell caught one pass for 5 yards and Lakes lineman Zach Banner played much of the game. Banner’s high-school teammate Cedric Dozier also participated in the game.
