Valley Medical Center Showcase at ShoWare

There is going to be plenty of good hoops on Monday. Here is a press release for an event at ShoWare Center.

The ShoWare Center will be the site of the second annual Valley Medical Center Showcase, an event featuring seven high school basketball games with some of the top local teams involved on a day honoring Dr. Martin Luther Jr.

The event will feature two girls games and four boys games starting with a 10 a.m. contest between the Auburn Riverside girls and Bellarmine Prep girls. The Valley Medical Center Showcase will take place on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and a tribute to MLK will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the ShoWare Center.

Other games include a girls game between Kentwood and Federal Way at 1 p.m. and boys games featuring Cascade Christian and Auburn Mountainview at 11:30 a.m.; Kennedy going against defending Class 2A state champion Clover Park at 2:30; seventh-ranked Mount Rainier against Benson from Portland at 4 p.m.; Kent-Meridian taking on Kentridge at 6 p.m. and Jefferson facing Kentwood at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students with ASB and seniors.
