Lakes lineman Zach Banner was scheduled to announce where he will play college football on signing day, Feb. 1.
However, the 6-foot-9, 310-pound offensive tackle confirmed Tuesday through a text message that he will instead make his decision public Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Lakes High School.
Banner, rated a five-star recruit by Rivals.com, took an official visit to USC over the weekend. He has narrowed his final three to USC, Oklahoma and Washington.
He said he will give a speech and then pick up a hat of the school he chooses.
“I’m never going to disrespect a school,” Banner said.
Also a standout basketball player, Banner plans to play two sports in college.
Lancers coach Dave Miller said Washington State coach Mike Leach was scheduled to visit receiver Cedric Dozier, another Pac-12 prospect out of Lakes, Tuesday. Cal was at the school in Lakewood Monday.
Dozier is still committed to the Golden Bears, but is intrigued about the possibilities of catching passes in Leach’s offense. Washington wanted Dozier to commit as a defensive back and the Blue Chip recruit wants to play receiver.
