Auburn to honor longtime statistician Priscilla Wood

If you’ve attended many Auburn girls basketball games over the past 38 years, you know who Priscilla Wood is.

She has been the team’s official statistician since the inaugural season in 1974, and she’s always gone above and beyond the usual responsibilities the job entails.

Priscilla brings cards for the players before each game and at the end of the season each receives a personalized, detailed stat booklet that includes records and accounts of all past seasons.

I’ve been told this is her last season and the team is honoring her Saturday, Feb. 4, at 7:15 p.m. prior to Auburn’s game with Kentridge. Coach Adam Ladage calls Priscilla “a true inspiration to our children” and is hoping for a large turnout.

If you know Priscilla, you should try to be there for the fitting tribute.
