K Kast: Lunch with the Sonicsgate guys

There is a table tucked in the back of Oskar’s Kitchen. It’s on a platform, surrounded by six seats. When the K Kast visits the restaurant on lower Queen Anne to record the Reignman Rant, Sonics legend Shawn Kemp sits at the head of the table.

He shares stories. There is a lot of laughter. The best details often come once the recorder is turned off. Since the restaurant has become like a second studio for the podcast, we invited the Sonicsgate guys — producer Adam Brown, director Jason Reid and executive producer Colin Baxter — to stop by Wednesday, sit around the table and talk hoops.

We talked about the past, present and future of Sonicsgate and the optimism that surrounds a potential arena deal in SoDo.

About 28 minutes into the podcast, Kemp makes an appearance and sits in for the rest of the show.
