Tim Rettmann to coach Meadowdale tennis

Meadowdale athletic director Chris Murphy announced Friday Tim Rettmann has been hired to coach the school’s tennis program.

Here is a press release:

Tim Rettmann comes to Meadowdale with a high degree of enthusiasm and knowledge. Prior coaching experience includes Pasco and North Central High Schools and numerous summer and youth outreach programs.

Rettmann played for Eastern Washington University from 1986-91, earning his teaching degree with endorsements in science. He replaces long time coach Mark Schneider, who resigned to move out of the area.

“We will miss Mark; he has done a remarkable job with the girls program and has left a solid foundation for Tim,” Meadowdale athletic director Chris Murphy said. “That said, I believe Tim has the tools to continue on a great tradition here at Meadowdale, and I look forward to working with him.”

The spring season begins on Monday Feb. 27, with the first home match on March 19.
