Monday’s high-school baseball highlights

Only a handful of area high-school baseball games were played (and reported) on Monday. Here are highlights of the ones we received:

Auburn Riverside 4, Skyline 1 (5 innings)

Connor Gilcrest, Conner Reinersten and Matt Sinatro accounted for the Spartans three hits. Now Auburn Riverside details were reported.

Garfield 6, Mercer Island 4 (5 innings)

Chandler Honican drove in a pair of runs for the Bulldogs, while Zach Ward doubled and drove in one. Alex Chase was 1-for-2 with an RBI. For MI, David Oppenheim homered with two RBI, one of only two hits winning pitcher John Trupin allowed in his four innings of work.

Bothell 5, Bellevue 2 (5 innings)

Mark Woods doubled and singled for the Cougars and teammate Rex Carlin delivered a pair of singles.

Highline 11, Liberty 9 (5 innings)

The Pirates pushed nine runs across in the fourth and held on. Winning pitcher Johnny Rhodes helped his cause with a home run and four RBI.

Overlake 13, University Prep 2

Michael Andrea allowed just one hit in his three innings of work, striking out six. Offensively, Steven Sacia was 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs sored. Jackson Unberger doubled and drove in a run.
