Once again, very few area baseball teams got in games Tuesday. Here are highlights from the ones reported:
Ballard 4, Garfield 2
Caleb Jaeger went the distance on the mound, striking out eight. Ben Welch keyed the offense, going 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored. Rory Graf-Brennen added a double and two RBI. Liam McFeeley had two of Garfield’s four hits, including a double.
Roosevelt 1, Bothell 0
The Roughriders scored in the bottom of the first and held on behind the pitching of Myles Gouveia and Graylin Derke, who got the save. Derke tripled and drove in the lone run. Zach Naon had a double. Bothell’s Rex Carlin was 2-for-3 with a double.
Woodinville 13, Inglemoor 2 (5 innings)
Sea Donlin and T.C. Florentine both went 2-for-3 for the Falcons with Donlin stroking a double.
Eastlake 5, Redmond 1
Mason Pierchalski was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored for the Wolves and Josh Barokas picked up the win on the mound. Lucas Eliason doubled for Redmond.
Federal Way 7, Bethel 6
The Eagles survived a five-run seventh by the Braves. Darrien Moran struck out seven in his six innings of work and got offensive support from Ryan George (2-for-4, double, RBI) and Rylan Kratsenberg (2-for-4, two RBI, two runs). Bethel’s Jordan Swofford doubled, drove in two and scored twice.
Robers 17, Spanaway Lake 3
Logan Ice went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBI to spark the offense. Aaron McGraw doubled twice and Derrell Green added a double and single. Freshman Luke Heimlich went three innings for his first high-school victory.
Edmonds-Woodway 9, Cascade 0
Ryan Budnick tossed a four-hit shutout and went 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run and three RBI. Patrick Bernard also homered and finished 2-for-4 with four RBI.
Arlington 7, Shorecrest 5
Riley Tracy struck out eight in five innings, allowing two hits, and D.J. Smith came on the get the save. Offensively, Ryan Walker went 2for-4 with three RBI and two runs, while Colton Hordyk was 1-for-2 with a stolen base and three runs scored. For Shorecrest, Neil Baldwin finished 2-for-4 with a triple and run scored.
Highline 19, Foster 2 (5 innings)
Johnny Rhodes picked up the victory and was one of three Highline players with three hits. Jonny Locher roped two home runs and a double, driving in five, while Cole Porter had three singles and three RBI.
Hazen 6, Liberty 2
Sam Cook was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored for the Highlanders and Jimmy Schmidt went the distance on the hill, striking out five.
Overlake 7, Sammamish 3
Matt Kaiser struck out eight as he threw a complete game. Peter Perkins was 2-for-4.
Mount Vernon 12, Glacier Peak 0
The Bulldogs amassed 19 hits, led by Jordan Eliasen (4-for-4, two doubles), Sean Fitzgerald (3-for-5, double) and Benne Gibson (3-for-4, double). GP’s Darwin Bean doubled.
Interlake 2, Granite Falls 1 (8 innings)
Sam Finfer was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored for the Saints and the victory wen to Nate Wehner, who allowed one hit in his four scorless innings.
