Thursday’s high-school baseball highlights

Here is a look back at Thursday’s high-school baseball highlights:

Newport 4, Ballard 2

Newport’s Nate Anderson homered and drove in three runs, leading Newport past Ballard.

The Beavers’ Ben Welch went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored in the loss.

Auburn 6, Kent-Meridian 4

Tildon Sansom drove in a pair, while Matt Seeley and Jakob Sloan went 2 for 4 with an RBI to lead Auburn.

Beamer 6, Graham-Kapowsin 0

Beamer’s Matt Bower struck out nine during a complete-game, four-hit shutout against Graham-Kapowsin.

Bethel 10, Curtis 5

Travis Hill went 3 for 4 with a double, RBI and three runs scored, helping Bethel beat Curtis.

Rogers 3, Federal Way 0

It was a pitcher’s duel at Federal Way with Rogers starter Heath Dempsey striking out seven during the no-hitter.

Eagles starter Darrien Moran also tossed a complete game, allowing one run on two hits. He struck out 10.

Tahoma 12, Mount Rainier 1

John Bodenhamer doubled, tripled and drove in two, while Reed Johnson doubled twice and scored a pair to lead Tahoma.

Puyallup 10, Spanaway Lake 0

Puyallup’s Matt Becker doubled twice and drove in three during a win over Spanaway Lake.

Lake Stevens 3, Marysville-Pilchuck 2

Jake Nelson and Anthony Blackie had two hits apiece, helping Lake Stevens edge Marysville-Pilchuck.

Inglemoor 4, Bishop Blanchet 2

Bishop Blanchet’s Josh LaRussa hit a solo home run, but it wasn’t enough, but it wasn’t enough against Inglemoor.

Mount Si 11, Sammamish 0

Ryan Atkinson went 3 for 4 and scored four runs, while Trevor Lane went 2 for 2 with a triple, two RBI and three runs scored to lead Mount Si.

Trevor Taylor allowed two hits, tossing a complete game for the Wildcats.

Mountlake Terrace 10, Glacier Peak 1

Mountlake Terrace’s Alex Hatch struck out 11, allowing a run on two hits over six innings.

Archbishop Murphy 10, Cedarcrest 0

Casey Dawes finished 3 for 3 with a double and three RBI in Archbishop Murphy’s win over Cedarcrest.

Tacoma Baptist 20, Chief Leschi 1

Kody Lyons went 4 for 5 with a homer, triple and five RBI to lead Tacoma Baptist.

Seth Herdle also went 4 for 5. He homered and drove in three.
