Thursday’s high-school softball highlights

The weather held enough in some places to get in a few softball games Thursday, and here are the highlights:

Ballard 8, Roosevelt 1

Andrea Jewett continued to swing a hot bat for the No. 9 Beavers (3-for-4, double, RBI) and was impessive on the mound, striking out 11 in four innings while allowing just one hit with no walks. Hollie Sharp smacked a triple and double, driving in two.

Emerald Ridge 7, Beamer 6

The No. 5 Jags out-hit the Titans 14-6, but had to come up with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to stay unbeaten. Meagan Hendrix was key, striking out 13 and going 3-for-4 with a triple. Kourney Andrews went 2-for-4 with two RBI. For Beamer, Emma Blauser was 2-for-4, driving in three, and Analee Scott stole four bases.

Spanaway Lake 16, Federal Way 1 (5 innings)

Michelle Kenner picked up the victory. A. Naputi (sorry, no full first name) went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored.

Rogers 14, Bethel 2

Kim Klock was 3-for-3 with a home run, driving in four as the Rams piled up 14 hits.

Edmonds-Wooday 3, Kamiak 2

Katelynn Lafferty struck out nine in going the distance and went 2-for-3. For Kamiak, Angie McFall and Kristyna Phan both finished 2-for-4 with a double.

Monroe 5, Lake Stevens 2

Alyssa Egan took care of business in the circle (10 Ks) and at the plate (3-for-4, double). Devan Larsen homered and doubled, driving in two, and Kelly Hanson had a pair of singles for the Bearcats. Lake Stevens got two hits from Cassidy Fifield and a two-run double from Teyha Harney.

Mount Si 15, Mercer Island 1 (5 innings)

Mickey Blad went 3-for-3 with a triple, driving in three, and the Wildcats also got three hits apiece from Kendra Lee and Rachel Picchena, each with a double.

Nathan Hale 18, Cleveland 1 (5 innings)

The Raiders were sparked by Bria Keen (2-for-4, double, two RBI, two runs) and Heather Weaver-Lopez (2-for-4, two RBI, three runs).

Auburn Mountainview 13, Decatur 2 (5 innings)

Delene Colburn cracked a home run, double and single, driving in three, while Cassie Rains chipped in two singles, a double and two RBI.

Shorecrest 9, Marysville Getchel 2

Callie Andersen went 4-for-4 and Anisa Gomez was 2-for-3 with a home run.

Mountlake Terrace 11, Shorewood 0

Maddy Kristjanson drilled a pair of home runs and a single, accounting for three RBI. Rene Bos added a solo homer and Amanda Aversano went 3-for-4 with a double.

White River 7, Orting 0

Kayla Smith twirled a one-hitter and went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI.
