Two Bellevue wrestlers sign letters of intent

We received this press release from Bellevue High School:

Peter Ovens and Jimmy Trull of Bellevue High have both signed letters of intent to wrestle next year in college. Peter will wrestle at 149lbs for the Bulldogs of Concordia Nebraska. The Bulldogs are members of the NAIA. Last year in their third year of Varsity wrestling the Bulldogs had 3 All-Americans. Peter was a four year varsity wrestler and two time team Captain. Peter is one of the new generation of Wolverine wrestlers to place every year at the KingCo conference. Peter was also a USAW National Championship competitor for the Wolverine Wrestling Club.

Jimmy will wrestle at 285lbs for the Pride of Hofstra University in New York. The Hofstra Pride are members of Division 1 of the NCAA. Jimmy was a four year varsity wreslter and a team Captain his Senior year. Jimmy placed at State for the Wolverines three years in a row, the first Wolverine wrestler to achieve that feat in the history of Bellevue High. Jimmy is number one all time for individual wins and second all time in wins by pin. Jimmy was a USAW National Championship competitor multiple times for the Wolverine Wrestling Club earning All-American Honors as a Cadet.

Peter and Jimmy become the third and fourth wrestlers from Bellevue High to wrestle in college in the last three years. We look forward to following their careers in college. This opportunity is a direct result of their hard work and dedication to the sport of wrestling.
