Jeremy Ruef refused to back down.
Bothell’s 6-foot-2, 220-pound defensive end was going through a one-on-one drill against the No. 2-rated prospect out of Oregon, Aloha offensive lineman Brayden Kearsley.
Kearsley is currently committed to Brigham Young, while Ruef is still trying to catch the attention of college coaches.
He went right at Kearsley at the Barton Football Academy Combine Sunday at Peninsula High School, showing off a tenacity that caught the attention of people at the combine.
I caught up with Ruef as he tried to catch his breath after the workout.
