In what is expected to be an annual event, Glacier Peak and Shorecrest will play a “Pink Softball Game” this evening (Monday) at 6 p.m. at Shorecrest.
Proceeds from the fundraiser and barbeque are being donated to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance for breast cancer and multiple myeloma research.
Pledges are being accepted for hits, runs and stolen bases for each team.
The event put together by Shorecrest coach Jackie Berg, whose team includes her younger sister, Jeanna, a junior second baseman. Their mother, Debbie, is a cancer survivor. Three other Shorecrest moms have battled or continue to battle cancer.
It looks like it will be a great evening for softball, and if you can you should try to get out and support this event. Pre-game ceremonies begin at 5:45.
