The Northwest Elite Football Camp is set for Friday at Mercer Island High School.
The camp, which runs from 5-8:30 p.m., features instruction from a distinguished collection of college coaches. The University of Washington’s coaching staff will be at the event, including head coach Steve Sarkisian, who will give the kickoff speech.
Coaches from Idaho, Boise State, Colorado State, Portland State, Eastern Washington, Central Washington, Willamette, UPS and PLU among others will provide plenty of one-on-one instruction at the event, which is presented by “Adrenaline Fundraising.”
Cole Morgan, who took over the camp when Jason Gesser accepted a coaching position at Idaho, said the coaches will be teaching skill work. The former quarterback at Ballard and Washington State said there will be no combine testing.
The camp, which has expanded from about 346 participants to 600 this year, is almost full with more than 500 athletes signed up. To register online, visit www.nwelitesports.com.
The camp costs $75 for those who preregister and $90 on the day of the event, but Morgan said he expects the event to sell out before Friday.
