High School Sports Blog

The latest news and analysis on high-school sports around the Seattle area

It’s time to jump into fall prep sports!

Are you ready to jump into the fall prep sports scene?

I’m not quite sure I am, but the summer is flying by and the first day of football turnouts are this Wednesday! The other fall prep sports begin practices on Monday, Aug. 20.

So, ready or not, here we go!

Sorry the high school sports blog has been idle for so long, but I had some extended time off and as most of you know former prep coordinator Mason Kelley left the staff several weeks ago.

I’m officially back and plan to post on the blog every day this week. If you have anything of interest to share, please feel free to comment or e-mail me at sringer@seattletimes.com.

Our new prep coordinator starts next Monday, the 20th, and you’ll hear more about him later. He’s going to do a great job and our prep coverage shouldn’t miss a beat.

This week, I am especially interested in your thoughts on the 2012 prep football season. We all know about teams like Skyline and Bellevue, the preseason favorites in Class 4A and 3A, but which teams do you expect to surprise this fall?

Let’s hear from you about top teams and top players, as we gear up for our state rankings and preseason all-state selections!
