Brooke and Brittney Pahukoa pick Boise State for basketball

Twins Brooke and Brittney Pahukoa, who will be seniors at Lake Stevens High School this fall, have made an oral commitment to play basketball at Boise State University.

Debby Pahukoa, their mother, said her daughters made six unofficial visits and ultimately decided they wanted to play college basketball together.

Between the two of them, she said they had offers from Hawaii, Idaho, Colorade State, Seattle University, Santa Clara, San Diego, Utah State, Pepperdine, Colorado, UC Santa Barbara, Eastern Washington and Weber.

Brooke was the WesCo 4A North Player of the Year last season, a Star Times selection and made the Associated Press All-State first team,. Brittney was a second-team All-WesCo choice.

The Vikings were ranked No. 1 in the state in Class 4A, but lost in the regional round to Skyview of Vancouver, which went on to win the state championship.
